Autoguard Fire Suppress, is born from the experience gained over 35 years in “Heat Exchange” in both, Industrial & domestic markets. Fred Kirsten, who is a known Specialist in the field of “Heat Exchange”, & the owner of “AFRICA HEAT EXCHANGE(PTY)Ltd”, has over the years pioneered many innovative solutions to extreme complex Industrial challenges.
As such, Fred has always been open minded to new innovative idea’s and Inventions. This is where the business relationship with Alex Bosch the Inventor of the “UCS Power Tower” started. Fred was “intrigued” by the Invention for Alternate Energy, which does not need Solar Panels and “Self-Charges” itself during Loadshedding, through its Unique (PoE Blockchain Protected), innovative “Electronic Alternator” system which is called “EPV/EVDC/EDC”.
Fred ordered a “UCS Power Tower” 15Kva/12Kw 220v system and had it installed at his own home, where it was running for over 8 months and saved him as much as 90% “off” his electricity bill.
The “UCS Power Tower” had “outperformed” all the inventors claims. However, everything changed on December 6,2023, when Fred received a call from a Neighbor, informing him his garage is on fire.!! Fred rushed home and found the “Power Tower” had “caught fire”, however because of it’s Unique “Stainless Steel” design, contained the fire for 40 minutes, which prevented his home from being burnt to the ground, before someone could attend to it!
After the fire was extinguished, & at closer investigation, it was found that there was a “Battery” failure. It was at this stage with Fred’s vast experience in “Heat Exchange” that he and Alex realized, all “safety” features and Control measures, in any “Alternate Energy” product on the market, are Specifically designed with AC & DC circuit breakers & Surge Protectors, to Isolate the problem area’s, HOWEVER, ……..there is NOTHING on the market, which “Protects” systems from “Battery Failure”. Every Solution, currently on the market “Protects” from the battery “UPWARDS”, however, if the BATTERIES fail & “self Ignite”, there is “NOTHING” in place to prevent the building from burning to the ground!!
Instead of the “UCS Power Tower” Invention being “Derailed” by the “Incident”, It has “EXPOSED” the “RISK” and “VOID” of Sufficient Protection from “Battery Failure” within the “Alternate Energy” Space.. Fred & Alex immediately investigated options in resolving the “NONE EXISTING” Safety Measures , with regards to “Battery Failure Protection” & Immediately without any delay introduced a “Self-Activated” dry chemical fire extinguishing ball , into the design of the “Power Tower”. Which with immediate effect Dec2023,was introduced as a “Standard fixture” built into the “UCS Power Tower” specific for AGM & LEAD ACID Batteries. Lithium Ion Batteries, were treated with greater “Urgency” as Dry Chemicals, have proven not to be effective in the extinguishing of Lithium Ion based fires! In actual fact even though there are “Lithium Fire Extinguishers” on the market which are mainly “Handheld Devices” (but not limited to), such devices need to be “Activated” by someone!! & considering a Lithium Ion fire could reach temperatures of 2000 degrees Celsius, both Fred & Alex agreed this is not the “Solution” for Lithium Ion Fires, Mainly, because the “Lithium Ion cells” are “Concealed” in a “Battery Box/Outer Casing”, and not accessible by “Handheld Device”, thus if the “Extinguishing Chemical” cannot reach the “innermost” Lithium Ion “cell(s)”, which has failed, the “handheld” Fire Extinguisher is rendered “Useless”!! No matter the Quality or “Credential” of it’s content.!!!
